The AddTransit Driver App

One free app for your drivers — scan QR tickets at boarding, share live vehicle positions, and map routes in the field.

Free on both app stores — install it on each driver’s phone

Get it on Google Play Download on the App Store

What your drivers can do with it

  • Scan QR tickets to board passengers — point the camera at the passenger’s ticket; the booking is validated and marked as boarded instantly. Tickets for the wrong service date are flagged automatically.
  • Share live vehicle positions — the app sends the vehicle’s GPS location to AddTransit, which publishes it in the industry-standard GTFS-Realtime format for Google Maps, journey planners and your own website.
  • Map routes and stops in the field — drive the route once with “travel along route” and the app records the actual GPS path, so your maps match reality instead of being drawn at a desk.
  • Set up your fleet — create agencies, routes, stops, vehicles and vehicle types from the phone.

Built for real operations

AddTransit is built for small and mid-sized bus, ferry, rail, tour and charter operators. The driver app is the field half of the platform: your office sets up schedules, fares and ticketing on the web, and your drivers board passengers and transmit positions from the vehicle. No extra hardware — any iPhone or Android phone works.

Fastest way to get your drivers installed

Have each driver point their phone camera at the QR code for their phone type:

QR code: install the AddTransit driver app from Google Play
Android — Google Play
or email the link to a driver
QR code: install the AddTransit driver app from the App Store
iPhone — App Store
or email the link to a driver

What it costs

The app itself is free. Ticket scanning works with an Online Ticketing account, and live vehicle tracking works with a Vehicle Tracking subscription — both self-serve, both cancel-any-time.
